On June 10, 2025, South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) held a ceremony at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul to announce the newly selected candidates for the 2025 World Class+ Project. A total of ten companies – including KSM Component, Witz, and Yulchon Chemical – were chosen as new World Class+ candidates.

The World Class+ Project nominates mid-sized companies that demonstrate strong global potential and innovation capabilities. Selected companies receive comprehensive support in technology development, finance, and exports to help them grow into globally competitive, specialized enterprises.

The ten companies selected for the program this year span key sectors such as future mobility, secondary batteries, new energy industries, advanced materials, and high-tech manufacturing sectors. The newly selected firms are: KSM Component, Witz, Cheil Grinding Wheel Ind., Seohan Inno Mobility, Dukil Industries, HimPel, H Energy, Daewon Pharmaceutical, DS Techno, and Yulchon Chemical.

MOTIE will provide an average of KRW 3.4 billion (approx. USD 2.5 million) per company over the next four years, totaling KRW 34.2 billion in R&D funding. In addition, the selected companies will benefit from a full package of non-R&D support services, including financial assistance, export consulting, legal advisory, and management consulting.

Oh Seung-chul, Director General for Industrial Policy at MOTIE, stated, “For sustainable growth, mid-sized companies must look beyond the domestic market and compete globally. This is only possible through technological innovation and global competitiveness.”

He added, “The government will continue to be a strong partner, not only through R&D investment but also through comprehensive support in areas such as finance, exports, and legal services, to help these companies thrive on the world stage.”
