On July 19, 2022, KAI (Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd.) and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration announced the success of the first maiden test flight of Korea’s indigenous 4.5th generation fighter jet, KF-21 Boramae.

The official name of the supersonic fighter jet is ‘KF-21 Boramae’, which means protecting the sky in the 21st century with our own strength. Through utilizing more than 30 years of know-how, our company, KSM also manufactured and delivered WELDED METAL BELLOWS in contribution to this project.

This officially marks South Korea as the eighth country in the world and the third Asian country to develop supersonic fighter jets.

Starting with this first flight, KSM will continue to make efforts to contribute to Korea’s advancement in domestic aviation technology and to become a high-tech powerhouse through the course of more than 2,200 regular test flights, until the final development is completed in 2026.
